From March 21 to 27, 2025, a supervision mission took place in Guinea as part of the NB-ITTAS project, aiming to assess the progress of two ongoing community demonstration pilot projects. This mission is part of a follow-up and capitalization approach to ensure the sustainability of the implemented actions

Led by a team of NB-ITTAS project experts, accompanied by local stakeholders, the mission provided an opportunity to review the implementation of activities, conduct field visits, and identify challenges encountered. Two sites were visited: Tinkasso (Dabola) and Frokonia (Faranah), where integrated water resource management and local governance projects are being actively executed. This mission enabled close monitoring for lasting impact.

Constructive exchanges with local stakeholders
During working sessions with partner NGOs, local authorities, and beneficiary communities, several aspects were addressed, including the assessment of progress made, the identification of best practices and areas for improvement, and the capitalization of achievements to ensure the sustainability of initiatives.
The participatory approach adopted allowed for the formulation of key recommendations to strengthen the administrative and programmatic management of projects while ensuring better ownership by local stakeholders.

A renewed commitment to water resource governance
This supervision mission marks a significant step in supporting beneficiary communities. By focusing on capacity building and optimizing local strategies, the NB-ITTAS project continues its commitment to sustainable and integrated natural resource management in the Niger Basin.
